Cooked Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C. sugar
- 1/2 C. water
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3 squares chocolate
- cream (for thinning)
Directions
Combine above ingredients and stir to mix thoroughly. Cook without stirring to 238 degrees or to soft ball stage. Let stand until cold. Beat. Thin with cream until right consistency for spreading.
