There’s nothing like a good cocktail to start your weekend off right. Get in the Mardis Gras mood by trying your hand at this classic drink! Don’t knock them back too fast, though, the concoction is a little strong.

  • 2 ½ oz. rye whiskey
  • 12/ oz. absinth
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • 1 tsp. Granulated sugar
  • 1 lemon rind

Mix the sugar and bitters in a glass. Add ice and then the rye whiskey. Coat the inside of another glass with the absinthe and pour the whiskey mixture into this one. Top with the lemon rind.
