  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground chuck
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 5 slices of American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 5 sets of burger buns
  • 5 pieces of bread, cut into bun-sized circles
  • For Special Sauce:
  • 10 tbsp. French dressing
  • 5 C. Mayonnaise
  • 10 tbsp Relish
  • 2 ½ Sugar
  • ½ Salt
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp White onion, minced

Prepare special sauce first by mixing the dressing, mayo, relish, sugar, salt, vinegar and white onion in a bowl; Refrigerate overnight.

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form into 10 thin patties. Cook meat in a large pan for at least 5 minutes on each side.

Toast the top and bottom burger pieces, and rounded bread slices, until slightly brown, then butter.

To build the burgers, start with the bottom bun. Spread on big mac sauce, then layer onions, lettuce, cheese, and one burger patty. Layer on the middle slice of bread and top with more special sauce. Then layer with onion, lettuce and the second burger patty. Place three dill pickle slices on the burger and cover with the top bun.
