Bisquick can be used on dozens of dishes so it's useful to always have some on hand. If you can't make it to the store, try making this homemade version.

  • 4 1/2 C. unbleached all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 1/4 C. powdered milk
  • 1/2 Tbs. salt
  • 1/4 C. baking powder
  • 1 C. vegetable shortening

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients.

  2. Place half of the dry mixture and half of the shortening into a food processor.

  3. Process until combined.

  4. Repeat for other half of ingredients.

  5. Combine both batches in a bowl and break up any large pieces with your hands.

  6. Store in a sealed container. Will keep for a month.
