  • 5 potatoes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 ½ tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Shortening for frying

Heat the shortening so that it is 375 degrees F and cut the potatoes into equal size wedges. There should be about 18 wedges. Mix the egg and milk together in one bowl and the remaining dry ingredients in another bowl. Put the potato wedges into the milk and egg mixture and then coat the wedges into the flour mix. Fry the wedges for 3 minutes and then let them sit for one minute before returning them to the oil for another 5 minutes.
