  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 6 -8 ounces fresh green beans
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup seasoned dry bread crumb
  • 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • vegetable oil

Place green beans into broth, bring the broth to a boil and cook for 15 minutes. Place the beans in cold water to stop the cooking process. In a shallow bowl, mix the beaten egg with milk and pour the flour into another bowl. In a third bowl, combine the bread crumbs, salt, black pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Take the green beans out of the water, shake off the excess and coat the beans with flour. Remove the excess flour and dip the beans into the milk and eggs and then into the breadcrumb mixture. Place the green beans on a plate until the coating is finished and heat enough oil to cover the beans to 350 degrees F in a heavy skillet or deep fryer. Fry until golden and drain on paper towels.
