Ingredients

  • one 9-in. pie shell (bottom crust only)
  • one 12-oz. bag cranberries
  • 5 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 4 Tbs. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. orange peel, finely grated
  • Topping:
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1/3 C. brown sugar
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/3 C. butter

Directions

Combine dry ingredients and seasoning.  Toss with prepared apples and cranberries. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake without streusel topping for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. 

Topping: Combine dry ingredients.  Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture is coarse and crumb-like.  Sprinkle topping over partially baked pie.

Bake completely assembled pie at 350 degrees for another 30 minutes or until crumb topping appears golden brown.
