Cream Cheese Cookies

Ingredients
- 3/4 C. butter
- 1/2 C. sugar
- one 3-oz. package cream cheese
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 C. flour, sifted
- Frosting:
- 2 C. powdered sugar
- 1/4 C. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1-2 Tbs. half-and-half, as needed
- nuts, chopped
Directions
Cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar, and salt. Add vanilla, then flour. Mix well. Chill 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll into 3/4-inch balls. Press flat with fork dipped in powdered sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool.
For frosting: Beat butter and vanilla into powdered sugar. Whip in as much half-and-half as needed. Spread on cooled cookies. Sprinkle with nuts.
