Cream Cheese Pound Cake

This was my first time trying to bake a pound cake from scratch. Needless to say, I have people that are trying to place an order for one including my mom.

Ingredients

  • 3 C. sifted flour
  • 3 C. of sugar sifted as well
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. of cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt, add to sifted flour
  • 6 eggs room temperature
  • 3 sticks of butter room temperature
  • 1 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 2 tsp. of vanilla flavoring

Directions

Mix cream cheese, butter, and flavorings, then add sugar, Alternate adding 1 cup of flour and one egg until all have been added, blend well. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and cook cake for 1hour and 30 minutes or until done. Test with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, then cake is done. Allow cake to cook for about 10 minutes and then remove from pan.

  • I have this same recipe, but instead of almond flavor I use 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring, a dash of salt, & 1/8 of baking powder.

  • Yesterday I read this recipe and tried it today 10/08/2007. It was a hit with everyone. Was really good. First time I make this pound cake.
