Cream Soup Substitute

Keep this mix in a jar around the house for a quick fix. Easy to throw together and a perfect replacement for cream soup.

  • 2 C. dry milk
  • 3/4 C. cornstarch
  • 1/4 C. chicken bouillon granules
  • 2 Tbs. dried onion flakes, optional
  • 1 tsp. dried leaf thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. dried leaf basil (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. dried leaf oregano (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. ground marjoram (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2-3 tsp. butter

Combine all ingredients except butter together and store in airtight container. To use, mix 1/2 C. dry soup mix with 1 1/4 C. water and cook until thick; add butter. This is equal to one can cream soup. For cream of mushroom or celery soup, add chopped sauteƩ mushrooms or celery along with the butter while cooking.

Yield: equal 9 to 10 cans
