  • Mac and Cheese
  • 1 box of macaroni noodles
  • 5 C. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ½ C. whole milk
  • ½ C. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 C. whipping cream
  • 4 Tbs. flour
  • 4 Tbs. butter
  • 4 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp. coarse sea salt
  • 1 tsp. fresh black pepper
  • Topping
  • 3 C. panko crumbs
  • ½ C. fresh Parmesan
  • 2 Tbs. garlic powder
  • 3 Tbs. butter

In a large saucepan, melt the butter and slowly whisk in the butter. Slowly mix in the milk. Reduce the heat and continue to stir and until it thickens. Throw in the cheeses, the cream, salt and pepper. Cook the pasta according to the packaging instructions. Make the topping while the pasta cooks. Melt the sauce butter and stir in the Parmesan, garlic powder, and panko crumbs. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Drain the pasta and coat in the cheese sauce. Pour the mac and cheese into a large pan and top with the panko mixture. Bake the pasta for about 30 minutes or until the top is browned.
