Prepare the perfect dessert at the last minute. You can make your chocolate covered cherries plain, or you can spruce it up with a white chocolate drizzle, some nut toppings or both! It’s a sweet treat everyone will love.

  • 2 1/2 C confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 C butter, softened
  • 1 Tbs. milk
  • 16 oz. cherries with stems
  • 2 C semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbs. shortening

In a small bowl, combine sugar, butter and milk. Knead until smooth. First roll into a 1-inch ball, then flatten each ball into a 2-inch circle.

Place one cherry into each circle, stem pointing up, and then wrap around cherry. Place on waxed paper lined baking sheet. Cover loosely and refrigerate for at least four hours.

Place chocolate and shortening in a bowl and microwave until melted. Stir the mixture until it is smooth.

Dip cherries into chocolate by using the cherry stem. Place on wax paper and return to refrigerator. Chill for at least two days before serving so chocolate can harden.
