Creamy Chocolate Liqueur Fondue

- 3/4 C. heavy whipping cream
- 4 (3 1/2 oz.) bittersweet chocolate bars, chopped
- 2 Tbs. Amaretto liqueur, optional
In a heavy saucepan, heat 1/2 C. heavy cream over medium heat until it comes to a low boil. Remove the pan from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes to soften and then whisk to combine. Stir in the liqueur, if using. Transfer the fondue to a fondue pot or set a bowl above a small lit candle.
If the fondue begins to thicken, stir in the reserved cream 1 Tbs. at a time.
