  • 2 1/2 C. dried split peas
  • 8 C. water
  • 1 ham bone
  • 1/2 C. shallots, chopped
  • 1/2 C. carrots, chopped
1 Celery Stalk, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. granulated garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 8 oz. package cream cheese

Add split peas, water, shallots, carrots, celery, salt, pepper, garlic, shallots, and ham bone into large pot on high heat. Once soup almost reaches a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Take out the ham bone and bay leaf. Dice ham bone meat and set aside. Cube the cream cheese and slowly whisk into soup. Stir in the diced ham. Serve warm.
