  • 1 C. flour
  • ½ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 Tbs. butter, melted
  • ½ C. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • ½ tsp. Baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. Baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 1 C. chopped apples
  • Topping
  • 1 ½ C. flour
  • ½ C. brown sugar
  • ¼ C. granulated sugar
  • ½ C. butter, melted
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients of the topping and then add in the butter and vanilla. Refrigerate the topping until you’re ready to use it. Cream the butter and sugar from the cake ingredients. Combine the dry ingredients and add them to the butter and sugar. Pour half of the batter into a greased baking dish. Place the apples on top and then the rest of the batter. Pour the topping evenly over the batter and bake for about 40 minutes.
