This recipe for crispy fried clams is easy and fast. Fried clams are a perfect appetizer for a party or gathering. Serve fried clams with tartar sauce or your other favorite dipping sauces.

  • ½ c milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 T butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 pint of shucked clams
  • Cooking oil

In a mixing bowl, combine egg yolk, butter, and salt. Add milk and whisk until smooth. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk egg white until fluffy and airy. Add egg white to the milk mixture.

In a deep fryer or skillet, heat frying oil to 375 degrees. Coat clams in batter and and fry for about a minute until golden brown and crispy. After frying, blot excess oil off clams on a paper towel. Serve with tartar sauce for dipping.
