  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/4 C. Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 T. chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 T. garlic, minced, divided
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes with basil
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1/4 C. olive oil
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cracked pepper
  • 6 submarine sandwich buns
  • 1 C. shredded cheese of choice

Stir together tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper, and two tablespoons of minced garlic in your crock pot. In a large bowl, mix together meat, egg, bread crumbs, parsley. and remaining garlic. Form about 24 meatballs with mixture and transfer to your crock pot. Cover and cook on a low setting for five hours. Divide the meatballs between each sub, ladle with sauce, and sprinkle with cheese. Serve immediately or place in the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
