Crock Pot Sloppy Joes

This is a favorite in my family. My children love when I have this ready for them at dinner time.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 C. onion, chopped
  • 1 C. celery diced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 C. catsup
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tomato paste, 6 oz.
  • 1 1/4 C. water
  • 3 Tbs. vinegar
  • 3 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

Brown the first 5 ingredients together and drain off fat. Combine all ingredients in the crock pot, stirring well. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours; or high 3-4 hours. Serve on buns or over noodles.

  • Instead of bouillon cubes I used a 14 oz can of beef broth (less sodium), i also used cidar vinegar, and 2 packed Tbsp of brown sugar. Smelled wonderful cooking and tasted like my mom's
