This easy to make apple butter is smooth and delicious. It goes great on toast for breakfast or can even be used as a sweet dip.

  • 6½ lbs. apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 Tbs. vanilla extract

Put the apples in the crockpot. In a bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour over the apples and stir. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours. Add in vanilla and stir. Cook for 2 more hours. Place the cooked apples in a blender and blend until smooth. Allow to cool. Serve on English muffins or toast.
