Here's a crockpot bread that contains a lot of flavor! A classic Italian bread will be the perfect pair with your favorite pasta meal.

  • 3 1/2 C. all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. dry active yeast
  • 1 1/4 C. warm water
  • 1/2 C. onion, chopped and sautéed
  • 1/4 C. fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. sea salt

Combine water, yeast and sugar in a large bowl. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Stir in 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 C. onion, 2 Tbs. rosemary, 3 Tbs. olive oil and flour. Mix until well combined. Lightly grease a large bowl and place dough inside. Cover with towel. Let it stand and rise for 1 hour. Remove dough from bowl and roll on a floured surface. Let it sit for 20 more minutes. Line crockpot with parchment paper and place dough insider. Sprinkle remaining onion, rosemary and salt. Drape paper towels over top of crockpot. Cook bread for 2 hours and remove from crock pot. When cool, drizzle with extra olive oil.
