  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 pork shoulder roast
  • 1 C. barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 C. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 C. chicken broth
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 large cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 8 hamburger buns, split
  • 4 Tbsp. shredded cheese

Put the vegetable oil in the bottom of the slow cooker. Put the pork roast on top and pour the barbecue sauce, vinegar, and chicken broth around it. Stir in the brown sugar, Worcestershire, chili powder, garlic, and thyme. Cover and cook on high about 5 hours until the roast shreds with a fork. Remove the roast from the crockpot and shred with two forks. Return to the slow cooker and stir the meat with the juices. Place the pulled pork on the buns and top with cheese before serving.
