These baguette slices are topped with classic ham, bacon, mozzarella, and tomato. Garnished with a little parsley for extra flavor.

  • 1 loaf Italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • 4 Roma or plum tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Tbs. fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 C. fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 C. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 C. ham, small cubes
  • 5-8 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 8-10 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Slice bread and place under broiler and toast until brown. Remove from oven. Combine tomatoes, basil, parsley, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper and mix well. Spread mixture over each slice of bread. Add ham, bacon and mozzarella, place in a crockpot and set on high.  Cook for about 35-60 mintues or until cheese melts and turns golden brown. Be careful not to burn. Remove from crockpot and allow to cool for several minutes before serving.  Garnish with parsley and enjoy.
