Crunchy and Sweet Walnut Apple Pie

- 4 apples peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/4 C packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbs quick-cooking tapioca
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Pastry for single-crust pie
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 C chopped walnuts
Toss apple slices with lemon juice in large bowl. Combine sugar, tapioca, cinnamon and nutmeg with apples and toss together. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Line a large pie plate with crust. Add apple mixture: sprinkle butter flakes over top using cheese grater. Sprinkle walnuts over top, sealing apple mix in.
Bake at 400° for 40-45 minutes or until filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack, then serve.
