This is a Coffee Cake my Grandmother made on Saturday mornings when I was growing up. This is so good. The wonderful taste will keep you coming back over and over again.

Ingredients

  • CAKE
  • 1 1/2 cups baking mix
  • 1 beaten eggs
  • 2 tbsps sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 cup nuts (chopped)
  • CHEESE FILLING
  • 8 ozs cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • POWDERED SUGAR GLAZE
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsps water

Directions

1 Heat oven to 350 degrees.

2 Prepare CHEESE FILLING:.
3 Beat cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and almond extract until smooth.
4 Set to the side.

5 Prepare CAKE:.
6 Heat butter in 13 x 9-inch pan in oven until melted.
7 Rotate pan to spread butter.
8 Mix baking mix, egg, sugar, milk, oil, and almond extract in bowl.
9 Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
10 Spread batter in pan.
11 Pour Cheese Filling evenly over batter and cut through mixture about 10 times.
12 Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
13 Cool 15 minutes.

14 Drizzle with POWDERED SUGAR GLAZE:.
15 Mix powdered sugar and water until smooth and easy to drizzle.
16 Sprinkle with nuts.
