  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts
  • 8 large apples, sliced
  • 3/4 C. sugar
  • 1/4 C. flour
  • 1 Tbs. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbs. butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line bottom and sides of 13-by-9-inch casserole dish with crusts. Mix remaining ingredients, except butter. Let stand for at least 15 minutes. Spoon filling into lined pie pan. Cut butter into tiny chunks and sprinkle over the pie mixture. Cover with top crust and flute edges. Cut slits into top crust. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
