  • 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
  • 2 cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups low-fat milk

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Use a saucepan to combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar and water. Bring the ingredients to a boil and then let them simmer for around 10 minutes. Remove from heat when done. Take out a 3-quart baking dish and place the butter inside. Put the dish in the oven and let the butter melt. When melted, slowly mix together the rest of the sugar, flour and milk inside of a bowl. Pour the mixture on top of the melted butter. Carefully spoon the peaches on top and pour in the syrup. Bake for around 45 minutes. Serve alongside vanilla ice cream.
