This Hungarian goulash is one of our favorites! It’s a great dish to come home to on a chilly autumn day.

  • 3 T. vegetable oil
  • 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 red bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 lb. lean beef, cut
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ C. sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 3 T. flour
  • 2 C. beef broth
  • Egg noodles
  • 4 tsp. tomato paste

Brown the beef over a pan. Stir in the paprika, caraway seeds and flour. Let it cook for one minute. Add a cup of beef broth. Pour everything out from the pan to the crockpot. Place the rest of the ingredients into the crockpot. Let it cook for 8-10 hours. Serve over the egg noodles.
