Delicious Homestyle Apple Pie
Serving Size / Yield
- 6 Tbs. unsalted butter
- 1/4 C. white sugar
- 1/2 C. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 C. water
- 1 (15 oz.) refrigerated double pie crusts
- 4 large red apples, cored and sliced extremely thin
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Unroll pie crusts and press one into a 9-inch pie dish.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in white sugar, brown sugar, honey, salt and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar completely and remove from heat. Gently fold apples into sauce until well combined. Pour into prepared pie crust mixture.
Unroll second pie crust on top and seal the edges between both pie crusts by pinching them together. Cut a few slits in the top to help with ventilation while baking. Bake for 15 minutes and reduce heat to 350 degrees. Continue baking for an additional 35-40 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
