  • 1 9-inch pie shell, frozen
  • 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1 handful whole pecan halves
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Take out a small bowl and combine the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, molasses, butter, vanilla and salt until the ingredients reach a smooth consistency. Evenly spread the chopped pecans across the pie shell. Pour the filling mixture on top of the chopped pecans. Dip the whole pecan halves into the filling and then let them rise again so they can be evenly coated. Arrange the halves on the surface of the pie. Bake in your preheated oven for around 30 minutes. When finished, loosely tent the pie with aluminum foil and bake for an additional 45 minutes, which is around how long it should take for the filling to set. Remove, cool and then serve.
