It is very simple and easy to make and at the same time it is a full course meal in itself. It's cheap too! I have never found anyone yet that did not enjoy it, I think you and your family will enjoy it too.

Brown ground beef, saute in onion and vegetables, and add soy sauce to taste. Cook together until vegetables are done. Place in casserole dish. Cover top with mashed potatoes. Slide in heated oven about 425 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. Top with cheese if desired. Remove from oven and serve.

  • I also made this with Chicken Fingers w/ Honey Mustard Sauce leftovers. This was a recipie I got from this site as well.

I laid my leftover mashed potatoes on top of the leftover chicken and added frozen veggies and cream of chicken soup (no water). Cooked at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

  • Originally, Shepher's Pie was made with lamb. Or even mutton. I have had it both ways. And I think I prefer it with the lamb. I know lamb or mutton can have a strong taste for some. But I think that is what makes it so ideal for Shepherd's Pie. Another comfort food.
