Sopapilla is a pastry made in Mexican and Spanish cultures. This recipe is a bit of short-cut from the real thing, but still very good.

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 2 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbs. butter
  • Cinnamon

Press half of the crescent rolls in the bottom of an 8-inch cake pan or springform pan. Mix cream cheese, vanilla extract and sugar. Smooth out over the crust. Add the other half of the crescent rolls on top. Cut butter in small pieces and place on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until golden brown.
