  • 3 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 6 Tbs. cocoa
  • 3/4 C. oil
  • 2 Tbs. white vinegar
  • 2 C. cold water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients. Place in ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes (or when

toothpick inserted in center is clean).

  • I have made this recipe, also known as "Wowie Cake", many times over the years. It is so rich and chocolaty that frosting is really superfluous. Simply sprinkle cooled cake with powdered sugar, that's all it needs.
