  • 1/2 C. maple syrup
  • 1/2 C. cocoa
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 C. stick of margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 C. cherry pie filling (low-sugar)
  • 2 Tbs. chocolate chips

Melt the margarine in a medium sauce pan, add syrup, and stir well until combined
Add the beaten egg into the mixture, and stir well
Add vanilla, cocoa, baking soda, and baking powder
Stir the mixture for a minute and until the cocoa is well incorporated
Pour the flour in and blend it well
Spread the prepared batter on a sauce pan and use the pie filling to top the batter
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and transfer the bar there and chill for half an hour
Sprinkle the chips over the bar, and chill for 2 hours
Take out and your no-bake chocolate cherry bars will be ready to be savored
