Dilled Mashed Potatoes

My husband says he wished restaurants could make them this good. Plain, but tasty. Don't go light on the dill or pepper because that's what this recipe is all about!

Time needed

10 minutes preparation + 25 minutes cooking

Ingredients

  • 5 med. potatoes
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • 2-3 Tbs. butter or margarine
  • 1-2 Tbs. pepper
  • 1-2 Tbs. dill weed
  • milk as needed
  • Optional:
  • chopped onion
  • finely chopped cooked bacon
  • shredded cheese

Directions

Pare potatoes, cut into quarters, place in boiling water, with 1 Tbs. salt added, for 25 minutes. Drain water off, place in medium sized mixer bowl, add the butter or margarine, pepper and dill weed to taste. Add milk as needed during mixing for desired consistency.
