Skip the drive-thru and prepare this homemade breakfast recipe the next time you're in the mood for something filling. You can even make this recipe as healthy as you'd like by using a whole grain bread, just egg whites, and some turkey bacon. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 lg. croissants (day old is fine)
  • butter, room temperature
  • 4 lg. eggs
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices of bacon, halved
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Cook bacon in the microwave or on the stovetop according to instructions. Drain and keep warm.

Halve croissants and spread liberally with butter. Toast on a hot griddle for approximately two minutes or until golden brown. Set aside.

Cook the eggs to your liking with a liberal sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Once all the ingredients are done, place a slice of cheese on top of each croissant half, top with bacon, then an egg, and the top of the croissant. Repeat until all four sandwiches are assembled.
