This is a casserole with all the fixins. Just imagine taking a bite-ful of hamburger, onion, jalapeƱo, cheese and Doritos. De-lic-ous!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean hamburger meat
  • 1/2 C. chopped onion
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can nacho cheese soup
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 small bag Doritos (not snack size)
  • 8 oz. grated cheddar cheese

Directions

Crush Doritos coarsely and place in bottom of a 13x9x3 pan. Brown hamburger meat with onions and jalapenos until there is no pink in meat. Drain well. Add soups and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and pour over crushed Doritos. Top with grated cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.

  • There are so many different ingredients you could add but what I do is to put it in a crock pot on low, go to work and have supper when I get home. I also use cream of mushroom and cream of chicken and the rotel and just layer it in.

  • My husband can't eat jalapeno, so I had to omit it. The first time I made it, I thought it was okay but my husband didn't like it.
I made it for the second time last night, with a few changes. I added one packet of taco seasoning to the meat and then one can of Rotel and one can of mixed veggies to the soup mixture.
We both like it this way much better.

  • Adding a 1/2 pkg taco seasoning and a small jar of salsa gives this recipe a spicy bite and you can still use the jalapeno if you want it hotter.

  • For the question on the size of evaporated milk, I looked on recipezaar.com for similar recipe's to find out. The other similar recipe's call for a 12 oz. can (lg). I'm making it right now and I think next time I may add about 3/4 of the can, it's a little too soupy.
