  • 2 T. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 C. packed brown sugar
  • 2 T. butter, cold
  • 1/4 C. hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 oz. semisweet chocolate
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. sour cream
  • 1/4 C. butter, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten

Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8-inch square baking dish. In a small bowl, combine two tablespoons of flour and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Cut in two tablespoons of butter and mix until crumbly. Stir in hazelnuts and set aside. In a small saucepan, melt chocolate. Once smooth, remove and let cool. In a medium-size bowl, mix together one cup of flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Add in sour cream, softened butter, and egg. Mix until well blended. Remove one cup of batter and add to melted chocolate. Spread remaining batter onto the prepared baking dish. Spoon the chocolate batter on top and sprinkle with reserved hazelnut topping. Bake for 40 minutes.
