This is the apple crisp my mother made. I think she got it from the school cooks back in the 60s

  • 1 C. flour
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 6-8 apples, diced (enough to fill an 8x8-inch pan)
  • cinnamon sugar mixture (1/2 C. sugar + 1 Tbs. cinnamon)

Mix flour, 1 C. sugar, and butter with a pastry cutter until well-blended. Place diced apples in an 8x8-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Cover with flour mixture and bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
