These Chinese inspired beef dumplings make an amazing appetizer for a party or as an amazing lunchtime snack. Dip these little dumplings in soy or sweet chili sauce and enjoy!

  • 1 package of gyoza wrappers
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1 cup of cabbage, shredded
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon of sesame oil, divided
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tablespoon of fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ tablespoon of brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

In a large bowl mix together the ground beef, onion, carrot, cabbage, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Once well combined, stir in the egg, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and sesame oil. Scoop 1 tablespoon of the meat filling into the center of the gyoza wrappers. Fold and tightly seal the edges of the dumpling. After all the dumplings are being filled, heat a large skillet with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and a tablespoon of water. Add the dumplings and cover the skillet. Let cook for 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
