  • 2 T. canola oil
  • 1 T. butter
  • 2 sweet onions, sliced into rings
  • 2 shallots, sliced into rings
  • 2 C. sour cream
  • 1 C. mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

In a large skillet, heat oil and butter over low heat. Once butter has melted, add onions and saute until caramelized. Add shallots and saute for another 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for five minutes. Chop into 1/4-inch pieces and set aside. In a medium bowl, mix together remaining ingredients. Transfer onion mixture to a bowl and slowly fold in sour cream mixture. Cover and refrigerate for one hour before serving.
