Regular fried chicken is boring, if you want a twist in this classic favorite then garlic fried chicken would be the solution. This recipe makes aromatic fried chicken that has a hint of garlic. It is best served alongside pasta or mashed potatoes. Any part of the chicken can be used for this recipe but for best results it is recommended to use chicken breasts because they are tender and juicy. The dish can be served after adding a spritz of lime, it really brings out the flavor of the fried chicken.

  • 4 chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thick and sliced into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups of oil (for frying)

Mix all the dry ingredients together and set aside. In a separate dish, whisk the egg and milk together. Now, dip the chicken pieces into the egg and milk mixture and then dredge the same in the dish containing the dry ingredients. Make sure the chicken is coated evenly before frying in 350 degree oil for roughly 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked.
