Easy Pot Roast

Delicious and easy pot roast cooked in a pressure cooker. Recipe has been around for 2 generations in my family.

Ingredients

  • 5-7 lb. cross-rib, chuck, round beef roast
  • 5-6 pkg. beef gravy mix
  • 7-8 cloves garlic
  • Pepper
  • Seasoned salt
  • 3-4 stems fresh marjoram
  • 4 Tbs. poultry seasoning
  • 2 Tbs. oregano
  • 1/4 C. high grade olive oil
  • 3/4 C. cornstarch in small bowl, mixed with cold water

Directions

Heat olive oil in pressure cooker. Sear roast on all sides. Cover with water and add all ingredients. Bring to pressure and watch clock, cook for 1 1/2 hours. After pressure comes down, lift meat out, bring to boil and wisk corn starch mixture until desired thickness occurs. At this point you may add sliced carrot and onion if you desire. Serve with boiled or mashed potatoes. They will ask for seconds! Meat makes great sandwiches.
