Everyone loves the smell of fresh scones in the morning and these include a special ingredient - eggnog! Sprinkle with berries to complete this delicious breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 C. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. baking powder
  • 8 Tbs. butter
  • 2 C. buttermilk
  • 1/4 C. eggnog
  • 1/2 C. blueberries
  • 1/2 C. raspberries

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix flour, baking soda, sugar and baking powder. Cut butter and add to mix. Combine well. Add buttermilk and eggnog, a little at time. Keep mixing until dough forms. Knead dough and cut out scones with biscuit cutter. Place on baking sheet. Brush tops with extra eggnog. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve on plate with berries.
