Everyday Waffles

Ingredients
- 1 3/4 C. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 egg yolks (beaten)
- 1 1/4 C. milk
- 1/2 C. melted shortening or salad oil
- 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
Directions
Sift dry ingredients. Combine egg yolks, milk and shortening; stir into dry ingredients. Fold in egg whites. Bake in hot waffle iron. When steam no longer appears, waffle is done. Don't raise cover during baking.
