This is a really good tasting gingerbread.

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1/2 C. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 C. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsps. ginger

Cream butter and add sugar and mix until well blended. Mix soda and ginger with the flour. Add egg to milk and beat well. Add dry and liquid ingredients alternately to creamed mixture. Mix well. With spatula, spread onto inverted side of baking pan that has been greased. Spread to 1/4 inch thickness. Bake 15 minutes in a moderate 350-degree oven. While hot, cut into squares and serve at once with butter.
