Fry beef and onion in saucepan until brown. Drain. Cook vegetables just until soft. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover. Cook on high 2 hours, or low 4-5 hours.

Skip pre-cooking the vegetables; add them raw to the slow cooker. increase cooking time to 4 hours on high, or 8-10 hours on low. Add the cooked macaroni and the milk during the last 15 minutes if cooking on high, or during the last 30 minutes if cooking on low.

Yields: 6-8 servings

  • no need to be so critical. not every recipe is for everyone's taste buds. My question is why cook it so long when everything is pretty much cooked already?

  • hatetocook, i make a similar dish. i would omit the macaroni & veggies, then serve rest of it over rice. add garlic salt and 1 more can of soup to make a thicker sauce. it's no longer a casserole but very quick to make, very yummy ,and a family favorite!

  • When my family saw the dish they said, "You should have blindfolded us, it looks awful." The flavor was not anything my family likes. In fac, some of it became dog food.
