This lemon-infused bread recipe serves well for breakfast and dessert. The unique addition of adding whole lemon slices into the top of the bread recipe transforms this into a true treat.

5-7 servings


  • 1½ cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1½ tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ⅔ cup Sugar
  • ⅓ cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Mashed Ripe Bananas
  • ¾ cup Chopped Nuts (Pecans and Walnuts)
  • 1-2 Lemons, sliced
  • Top with mixed nuts

Sift flour, baking powder and salt, then set aside. In another bowl, beat sugar, butter, egg and bananas until creamy. Add dry ingredients, slowly blending well. Using a greased loaf pan, bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. After loaf is finished cooling, cut slits in top of loaf, adding in fresh lemon slices for flavor. Let sit for 30 minutes-hour before serving. Top with mixed nuts.
