Fat Free Chocolate Cake

Who says you can't eat chocolate cake on a diet? Try this indulgent-tasting treat.

Ingredients

  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 1/4 C. flour
  • 1/2 C. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 C. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 C. sugar
  • 1 C. water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 C. corn syrup, light or dark
  • 1 confectioners' sugar (opt.)

Directions

Spray 9-inch square pan with cooking spray. In large bowl combine next seven ingredients. In medium bowl stir sugar and water until sugar is almost dissolved. Add egg whites and corn syrup; stir until blended. Gradually add to dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in 350 F oven 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. If desired, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Each serving provides: 0 g total fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 140 Calories, 2 g protein, 34 g Carbohydrate, 160 mg sodium

  • I went back and did the calculations for anyone that cares about WW points. If you cut it into 16 pieces it is 140 calories and 3 points, 18 pieces makes it 125 calories and 2 points, 9 pieces makes it 249 calories and 5 points, and 12 pieces is 187 calories and 3 points. Pick your poison. (I used the recipe calculator on Caloriecount@About.com for all these calculations.

  • you can get 9 three inch pieces or 18 -11/2 inch pcs which would be plenty big for weight watchers.
