  • 2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C. sour milk
  • 1 1/2 C. raisins
  • Royal Icing Glaze:
  • 1/3 C. margarine
  • 2 C. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 to 4 Tbs. hot water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients except raisins. Combine butter, eggs and milk. Mix well. Stir in raisins. Pour batter into 8-by-8-inch non-stick pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

For frosting, melt butter over low heat. Remove from stove. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Mix in hot water (1 Tbs. at a time) until smooth and thick. When cool, spread icing over cake. Cut into slices before serving.
