  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 1 chili pepper, diced
  • 1 ½ lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 package lil’ smokies, rinsed and drained
  • 3 (14 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 T. ground cumin
  • 1 T. chili powder
  • 1 T. paprika
  • 2 T. oregano
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

In a large pot, heat oil and sauté chili pepper, onions, and garlic until tender. Add ground beef and brown until cooked through. Pour in crushed tomatoes (with juice), lil’ smokies, salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, and cinnamon; cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Ass in kidney beans, stir well, and return to a simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
